MagicMoney has helped operators through years of technical issues. The Help Agent can answer your questions two ways.
I answer from official MagicMoney docs and from your own history with us. Nothing else.
I also draw from an anonymized database of fixes contributed by other operators who opted in. You get the benefit of every weird edge case MagicMoney has ever solved. In return, your own troubleshooting (anonymized) goes back into the pool so the next operator can learn from you.
Your financial records, event data, plan details, revenue, attraction performance, employee info, and anything a competitor would find valuable. That data is hard-walled to your account and never enters the shared pool. Ever.
A few years ago, a carnival kept seeing bill acceptor failures at their kiosks. It took an incredibly long time to pin down: an early-2000s model generator was the culprit — that specific model outputs slightly dirty power unless it's fine-tuned, and the bill acceptors couldn't handle it. Now imagine you're seeing the same symptom today. The fastest way the Help Agent can solve it is to ask "is your generator an early-2000s Model X?" That question alone might tell you another operator hit this issue — because there's a finite number of MagicMoney operators running that specific generator. The reverse works too: if another operator hits this in the future, they might infer that YOU were the one who originally ran into it.
One operator might be able to infer "another carnival also had this specific technical issue." That's it. They don't learn your revenue, event schedule, guest counts, plans, pricing, staff, or anything else. They only learn that a technical problem happened.
The question to ask yourself: Are you more worried that one of 60+ operators might figure out you once had a technical hiccup with MagicMoney — or are you more worried about solving that hiccup as fast as possible when it happens?
Most operators tell us the second one. But it's your call. You can change this anytime in Settings.
Draw from anonymized fixes contributed by other opted-in operators. Your own troubleshooting contributes back (anonymized).
